Joint Initiative
Moving Europe is a joint initiative of bordermonitoring.eu, welcome2europe and Forschungsgesellschaft Flucht&Migration.
Bordermonitoring.eu: The charitable association bordermonitoring.eu e.V. was established in Munich in 2011. The focus of the association’s work is on the debate about the politics, practices and events surrounding the European border regime and about migration movements. To this end the association combines scientific research, political commitment and critical relations activities with concrete support for refugees and migrants. In this way the association contributes towards a change in the realities at the borders and in their consequences for European society.
Welcome2europe: Welcome2Europe collects independent information for refugees and migrants coming to Europe. The network provides contacts and counselling to refugees and migrants on their way, supporting those who are refused entry at the external border of Europe, imprisoned or deported.
Supporters
Moving Europe is supported by Medico International. Medico International has fought for social change for over 40 years. In solidarity with socially excluded and marginalised people in the global South, medico works to promote living conditions fit for human beings which maximise health and social justice. The goal is not merely to reduce poverty, need and violence, but to identify and overcome their causes. The problem in the world is not too little aid, but rather the conditions that make more and more aid necessary. For medico, aid is part of comprehensive political action in solidarity. Our efforts to support emancipatory processes are made in the awareness of the ambivalent consequences of aid.
